I have a 1999 JD 4400 HST. In front of the radiator there is a bracket that can be used to hang weights. How much weight can this bracket support? I can't find any references to this question in the owners manual.

Thanks in advance.

they do make extenstion brakets for them also, i think as many as you could fit would be ok, depending on what you have hanging off the 3point to keep front end from becoming light. ....

My 4300 had six of the suitcase weights on it. The book says that with the extension 10 is ok as has allready been pointed out. My experience was that 6 weights was not enough for the weight of a MX5-mower or a roll of hay on hayforks, but the addition of a 420 FEL solved the problem very nicely.... ....

Exactly!

Don't waste money of front end weights. Best front end weight by far is a FEL. Just leave it on all the time. And for when you want more front end weight, pick up a rock or dirt with it. ....

I haven't had any problems with this yet but it may be because of the FEL. I think my manual says six suit case style weights. I just intend to put a lttle dirt in the bucket if this is a proble during some special application. ....
